Shark Country, 2017

The Wollotuka Reconciliation Scholarship Dinner is an annual event that raises money for and presents scholarships to Indigenous students of the the University of Newcastle. Each year a surfboard is auctioned, decorated by an artist with affiliation to Wollotuka and the School of Aboriginal Studies. This year I was approached to paint this amazing hand shaped board.

Designed and made by Rex Marechal of RMS Surfboards of the Central Coast (NSW) this particular shape was a finalist in the International Icons of Foam competition earlier this year.

The surfboard was auctioned and raised $2,500 on the night.
